  • Acne (Pimples)
  • Hair fall
  • Dandruff
  • Pigmentation of skin which is hard to go
  • Etc.

The management of these skin condition may be divided into:

  • Short term management
  • Long term management

  • Cleaning the skin with luke-warm water. Excessive use of hot water can make your skin vulnerable.
  • Gently cleanse the skin with mixture of saline water and glycerine.
  • Apply a soothing moisturizer (according to your skin type).
  • Avoid using bleach, shaving cream, chemical wax on skin to remove the colour.
  • Avoid using detergents, dish wash soaps on skin.
  • You can use mild soaps with moisturizer for cleaning the skin.

Long term management

This is perhaps a necessary to take care of your skin, post Holi for a longer time. People follow that the short term management is ok, they might not be right, as skin care must be taken for few day after exposure to chemicals. This ensures that the skin doesn’t go in s bad shape again after recovering from acute exposure. Below are some of the tips which you may follow to keep your skin healthy and glowing:

  • Use mild soaps, preferably having moisturizers so that skin doesn’t go dry.
  • Use a combination of Glycerine, rose water and lemon (in a ratio of 4:4:2 parts) to cleanse the skin followed by washing with luke warm water. The combination may be used for massaging the affected area gently for few mins. Never leave this combination stay on skin for long hours.
  • Have plenty of juicy, seasonal fruits as they help skin to rejuvenate quickly.
  • Avoid consuming spices especially red chilies and garam masala.
  • Keep the skin moisturized with a gentle moisturizer. Dry skins are apt for infections and allergies.
  • Do not use bleach, wax for few days.
  • Use mild soap and shampoo for cleaning your hairs, which must be cleansed regularly. There is notion that too much shampoo shall make hair fall excessively, which is not true. A balanced shampoo can be used on regular basis, and moreover, dirty scalp and hair are prone for heavy hair loss.

Medicinal Management

The medicinal management must be taken as per advise of the nearby physician after thorough examination, however, certain medicines may be kept at home for the First Aid, to alleviate the suffering, till the time a medical consultation is sought for.

  • Calendula Mother tincture for local wash after diluting in water.
  • Echinacea mother tincture for local wash if there is any suspect to develop infection.
  • Petroleum ointment / Calendula oint as general antiseptic for cuts, wounds, dry skin, cracked skin etc.
